More Village People

Zomg. So. I have heard a few people in recent years expressing the opinion that the Village People weren't meant to be a gay band at all. To those people, I give you this song. It actually made me tear up slightly. I might just post about the Village People from now on.

Sodom and Gomorrah

Hey guys, it's been a while... I'm sorry I've neglected you. I'll just put "Sodom and Gomorrah" by the Village People here. It's the most fabulous rendition of a Biblical/Torah story that *I've* ever heard.

Funky Covers

I have a passion for disco. I have a passion for anything danceable, and I love sequins, so it all pretty much follows. I also, now, have a passion for funk. I mean, I have liked Jamiroquai for years, and my childhood in Ohio was great for its choice of oldies radio stations and the fact that we actually *listened* to them back then. Sorry if I just stepped on anyone's toes with that Jamiroquai statement. But anyway, a friend of mine and I recently did some serious dancing at a local club night when I heard something that stopped me in my tracks: a funk cover of Star Wars. And I was in love.

Blender's Bottom 50, Part 1

Blender magazine, which from 1994 to 2009 reviewed thousands of artists, started out as the first digital CD-based magazine. It claimed to be "the ultimate guide to music and more". So clearly I had to pay attention to their list of 50 worst songs, having come across them while looking up "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel. It was stuck in my head, ok.

I'm not going to go through the entire list here (you can find it by following this link) but I will post the ones I consider to be most on target and also the ones I don't.

You may not agree, of course.

Voices of the Angels

This post is dedicated to those exhibitionists out there who really sincerely believe that they can sing, but who just need a little pat on the hand and some gentle but firm disillusionment. Bless 'em. Good for them for trying, I say.
